Mamoru Oshii's little-screened film will be shown at The Place theatre at 7 p.m.

There will be a screening of Mamoru Oshii's Angel's Egg original video anime at The Place theatre in Bedford (directions) on July 27 at 7 p.m.

Angel's Egg was originally released in Japan in 1985. Oshii directed the OVA at Studio DEEN. Oshii and Yoshitaka Amano wrote the story, and Oshii wrote the screenplay. Hiroshi Hasegawa, Masao Kobayashi, Mitsunori Miura, and Yutaka Wada produced the film. Yoshihiro Kanno composed the music. The Place website describes the story: "A mysterious young girl with long hair wanders a desolate, otherworldly landscape, carrying an ominous large egg."

The Angel's Egg anime has never been released in the West in its original form. Carl Colpaert's live-action/animated 1987 film In the Aftermath spliced footage from the film. Distributor Arrow Video released In the Aftermath on Blu-ray Disc in 2019.
